Nature

When asked. "What do you paint?", my carefully chosen answer is "The textures of nature." Although I am gathering inspiration along the same footpaths as a more traditional landscape artist, it is not the sweeping vistas with dramatic horizons that move me. I am intrigued by nature's complex layering. I see the promise of a magical lair in a delineated space. I want to take the viewer on a visual journey, small in distance but dense and entangled; to capture small but wondrous universes that may be lurking out of the corner of one's eye.
